Balls

How do I say this nicely.... pregnancy give you BALLS. As someone who has spent most of her life holding in feelings and putting others' needs first, I can really say that I enjoy this time in my life.

Suddenly, I can say what I feel, when I'm actually feeling it. I can tell people no. I can tell people to suck it. I can get my way! Because really, who is going to tell a pregnant woman no?

While it's great for me, my boss is coming in to town tomorrow and I'm a little nervous... for her sake. I rarely see her, and she doesn't know me well. For the last few months she's had to deal with my Elton John diva-level tantrums through email. I can only imagine what a face to face meeting will bring.

I'm not sure if it's the hormones or the new perspective that comes with growing a human. I have a much better handle on what is/ isn't important. And more than anything, I don't feel the need to waste time on stupidity and not saying what needs to be said.

Or maybe it's just, you know... pregnant women are smug??

Ha! I love the title of this post.

I completely agree that you suddenly aren't afraid to give people a piece of your mind or you no longer feel guilty when telling people to basically fuck off. Husbands should especially beware. I think it's a big combo buritto of hormones, being tired, feeling uncomfortable and as you said, knowing there is something so much more important on the way than all the other BS you deal with. It's like having a free pass to be a bitch. Kinda nice, isn't it? :)

I felt the same when I was pregnant. I remember on my first, I was still working and like yourself, it was a giant realization of what was really important (baby growing inside of me) and what was not (asshole customers) which resulted in my regularly letting the entire world know exactly how I felt at all times. It was a great feeling :)

Pregnancy sounds like the key to life! I love Elton John style diva sessions.
